Abstract: Research Title: The Role of Social Networks in Shaping Public Opinion to Promote Political Change in Sudan--An Applied Study on Facebook User Samples Reacher Name: Malaz1abdall@gmail.com The purpose of this study is to understand the contribution of social media in shaping public opinion, the importance of social media in political change, and the extent to which social media promotes public political participation. The importance of this study lies in drawing people's attention to the importance of social media networks, highlighting the role and influence of public opinion in political events and the role of political change in society. The research used descriptive analysis methodology to describe and analyze human phenomena in the research community, as well as the methodology of collecting secondary information such as books, references, university papers, articles and related topics. The question of this study is to what extent social networking sites influence the formation of public opinion, what are the main functions of social networking sites, and what is the impact of social networking sites on political direction and public opinion. The sample of the study is a group of media experts and politicians. The research is divided into four chapters. The first chapter involves the methodological framework of the research, the second chapter discusses public opinion and political change, the third chapter involves social networking sites and the formation of public opinion, and the fourth chapter involves field research. The study has reached a number of conclusions, the most important of which are 1. Contribution of social media to influencing public opinion 2. Social networking sites are one of the important tools for revolution 3. Facebook is the most website dealing with the political issues. The research recommended some suggestions, the most important of which are 1. Paying attention to social networks because they have a great influence on public opinion 2. Censoring the political news on social media. 3. The researcher suggested that political scientists make the best use of Facebook's potential to understand the public's views on political issues.
