Abstract: Study Abstract: The science of interpretation of the Noble Qur’an is one of the most important and noble topics due to its connection with the greatest and most honorable books, and therefore it is worthy of research and authorship. With the many books of interpretation we have today, and the differences contained in them has called for a need of comparison and guidance in other to get to the most correct ones so as to facilitate people's understanding of God's words, among these books are the tafsir of ibn al-Jawzi and ibn kathir that has concerned itself with the desire to state the differences of opinion among the predecessors in tafsir. Therefore, the study aims to introduce the two imams of tafsir and highlight their personality,. And to show their tolerance, patience and ordeals they've been trialed with but failed to give in, and their keenness on serving the Qur’an, and their efforts to clarify its meanings, and explain its secrets, and reveal its details, and extract the wisdom and secrets contained in it, and show what their interpretation contained of masterpieces and wonders, and the method of brevity without a violate summary. The study followed the inductive and descriptive approach and the analytical and comparative approach, and the study includes six chapters, the first chapter: the basics of research and the second the previous studies, and the third chapter contains the knowing of the two imams and their interpretation and the differences of interpretations and it's causes and types and in the fourth, fifth and sixth chapter the researcher focused on what the two imams said about the differences of interpretators and their guidance, The study concludes by studying their approach and stating the differences between them and indicate that, the two Imams relied their interpretations of Tafsir with what has been passed down to them. The first source for each one of them was the Qur’an, then the Sunnah, and the sayings of the companions and those who came after them, and the Arabic language, and the sayings of the Arab, and the interpretation of the scholars who preceded them, and the study concludes that most of the differences of interpretators is as a result of diversity and not contradictory. the study also found out that the two imams took great care in mentioning narrations according to their chain of transmission and Ibn Kathir often used to judge narrations, and they did not occupy their interpretations with many Israelites contradicting the Islamic faith but sometimes they alerted on that. Therefore, the study recommends to follow these nullifiers who spent their lives in learning and teaching, even though the two imams grew up orphans it did not affect their achievement, and the study recommends following the two imams for their endurance, patience and ordeals they've been trialed with but failed to give in, Finally, researchers should conduct more studies on Islamic leadership and its historical role in spreading Islam in the Islamic world
