Abstract

This study discusses the relation between Wad-Madani city and its region, with a view to identifying the degree of the relation and the activities that affect it; besides identifying the most important problems related thereto, and suggesting the future solutions for these problems. For data collection, the researcher has depended on field studies in the form of a questionnaire, direct observation and personal interviews, in addition to the secondary sources in the form of books, reports and scientific magazines. The researcher has adopted the analytical descriptive approach, in addition to the statistical and the historical approaches. The research is divided into six chapters: the first chapter tackles the research`s fundamentals and the theoretical frame; while the second chapter discusses the natural characteristics affecting the study area; and the third chapter considers the human characteristics. The fourth chapter studies the functional structure of WadMadani City. The fifth chapter is titled the City Region; drawing the boundaries of some of the functional relations between WadMadani and its regions. And the sixth chapter came under the title: Future of the Relation between the city and its region. It studies the problems and the future vision of the relation between the city and its region. The study is concluded with a summary plus the most important results and recommendations, in an attempt to establish and ideal relation that will lead to the convenience of the citizens of the city and its region.
