Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to identify the environmental effects of landfills in the state of Khartoum-Omdurman-Karari Locality ,the study aims to find out more types of waste effect on the environment .
One of the objectives of this study toKnow environmental effects of landfills in the state of Khartoum and then to develop aplan and the scientific spirit to face the consequences of such wastes,and to highlight the importance of studying the land fill because it is the last point entrusted with the disposal of all kinds waste, as we know that the waste problem has become obsessed evident in with the steady population density and now the individual daily waste it’s has become about 6.0kg in the state of Khartoum .
the researcher obtained the initial information through interviews and observation ,while the secondary information obtained through reference books, reports ,and world wide
web.
The researcher obtained the following results that waste have negative impacts on the environment in all sectprs (water,air ,soil), it must also be full commitment to implement all the occupational health and safety in landfills and review these terms and updated on an ongoing basis ,and the tightening of inspection and control rotating and permanent, setting conditions for controlling the landfill sites,and what is most importance is to prevent the establishment residential and transportation stations, near the landfill,and the need to train workers within the laddfill on the safety and ways to maintain their health and tougher sanctions,and implemented by force and decisiveness that required topreserve the lives of citizens.
The researcher recommended that commitment to give priority attention to services ,parricularly the environmental health service, participation and activating the role of members of the community to preserve the envitonment and realize its importance,the need for coordination between the Ministry of Environment and the Ministry ofHealth to work together in order to reduce administrative procedures,cooperation and coordination with the supervisory administration for the cleanliness of the Khartoum state and make attention to the problems facing the activities of the localities in the collection of waste from neighborhoods and seek to resolve.
