In this paper titled “Sayings of Zayd Ibnu Aslam and Mujahed
Ibnu Jabr in the Qur’an Translation by Ibnu Katheer in the last
Third of the Holy Qur’an”, the researcher studies academically
the sayings of the two scholars working out of cognizance of low
interest by Muslims in the learning and teaching of heritage of
the righteous predecessors and the dire need for knowing the
sayings the previous scholars generally and current two scholars
in particular in the field of Qur’an translation. The researcher
here, portrays the knowledge value of sayings Zayd Ibnu Aslam
and Mujahed Ibnu Jabr in the book “Holy Qur’an Translation”
by Ibnu Katheer and depicts their differences in their comments
in verses interpretation. The researcher handles the subject in an
introduction, six chapters and a conclusion. In the first chapter,
he handles the basics of the research, where in the second, third
and fourth chapters, he shades light on biographies of Zayd ibnu
Aslam, Mujahed Ibnu Jabr and Ibnu Kahtheer and their
approaches and sources of Qur’an translation respectively. In the
fifth and the sixth chapters, the researcher collects and compares
the sayings Zayd Ibnu Aslam and Mujahed Ibnu Jabr in “The
Qur’an Translatio” by Ibnu Kather in the last Third of the Holy
Qur’an, i.e from Chapter Al-Rum to the end of Chapter Annas. In
this modest paper, the researcher finds out that Zayd Ibnu
Aslam and Mujahed Ibnu Jabr were great prominent scholars
whose works for Qur’an interpretation were enormous and were
knowledgeable, of sound faith and were very wise, May the
Almighty Allah be merciful with them. At the end of the
research, the researcher presents his findings out of the research
and gives out several recommendations. |
