Abstract:
This research aims to identify parental attitudes towards the choice of their children in the secondary stage of the academic race, to clarify the differences in the attitudes of parents towards choosing their children in the secondary stage of the academic course.
In order to achieve the objectives of this research, the researcher followed the method of the descriptive approach. This research was carried out in the secondary schools of JabalAwlia, Al Azhari Unit. The sample of the research consist of 60 students (30) of them were boy and 30 girls. It is a simple random sample.
There search tools assimilate the Parental Trends Scale were adjusted by the researcher, the data was analyzed by the statistical package of social sciences (SPSS) by applying a number of statistical methods, including (T) test for the group, including the T-test of the two groups, theLicart five-point scale and the Pearson correlation coefficient.
The researcher reached a number of results, the most important of which are:
1. Parents' attitudes towards the choice of their students in the secondary stage of the academic course are low.
2. Parents' attitudes towards the choice of their students in the secondary stage of the scientific course are low.
3. Parents' attitudes towards the choice of their students in the secondary stage of the literary course are low.
4 .No differences in objects of statistics upon parent attitudes towards students in the secondary stage of the academic course according to variety of parent kind (father _ mother).
