Abstract:
This study aims at identifying the role of social media in attracting support and
raising donations with voluntary organizations. Voluntary organizations face
increasing challenges to provide services to their communities, while experiencing
significant constraints in obtaining support to meet these commitments. Research
has suggested that fundraising through social media leads to the development of
organizations' resources compared to traditional methods.
The researcher used the method of extrapolation and case study to study the
experience of the Street Accidents initiative which was found unmatched by the
Sudanese society. The research came out with a number of results. The fundraising
process is not just a matter of collecting money, it is a cumulative construction
process that always leads to effective communication with And develop a strong
network of relationships between the voluntary organization and its social
environment, individuals, groups, institutions and organizations, thus creating a
strong and strong base of supporters and supporters of the goals and issues
adopted by the organization.
As the social media are characterized by the ability to disseminate issues and
objectives and the rapid spread to reach the largest number of audiences, the study
recommended that voluntary organizations should benefit from raising awareness of
their issues, mobilizing volunteers and building strong relationships with supporters
through the preparation of Effective fundraising strategies, thus leading to the
development of these organizations.
