التحليل الهيدروجيومورفولوجي لحوض وادي المقدم دراسة باستخدام نظم المعلومات الجغرافية

Abstract

The analysis of the hydro-geomorphology of Wadi Elmogadam valley is of high importance at all levels due to its physical characteristics. This study reflected on one of the important basins in the four states of Sudan: The White Nile, North Kordfan, Khartoum and the Northern state. The geo-morphological characteristics of the geomorphological system were determined through the applications of geographic information systems (GIS) and Remote sensing (RS) based on many mathematical laws concerned with the geomorphological and hydrogeological analysis. The basin area was 37.895.62 km 2 and a real length of 436.18 km and an average width of 116.5 km. As it turned out, the basin is far from the geometric shape round where the Dendritic pattern drainage prevails most of the area of the basin. The study emphasizes that the decline of the topography will make it an area of economic and urban importance. The study proved that the basin area can constitute a large area for a number of agricultural projects that contribute to support the national economy and contribute large areas to Arab food security project. The study also stress attention to the establishment of climatic and hydrological stations on the main valleys of the basin for the purpose of recording data on the climatic and hydrological elements of the basin and to take advantage of its outputs in the process of water harvesting and the impact of climatic elements on the basin hydrology.
