Abstract:
Thisresearch aimed to study the extent to which digital media is used to promote archaeological tourism by applying to the Ministry of Tourism, Antiquities and Wildlife, and to identify the types of digital media used to promote tourism at the Ministry of Tourism.The importance of research stems from the growing interest in digital media and its role in promoting and spreading in various fields. The researcher used the descriptive analytical approach as the most appropriate for media research. The researcher used a questionnaire as the main tool to collect data from the research sample which consisted of (50) respondents from different departments (promotion, media, public relations, international relations and IT departments) in Ministry of Tourism, Antiquities and Wildlife. The collected data were statistically processed using the SPSS version (16) to find the frequency, relative, average, and standard distributions of respondents' responses.
The study concluded with several results, the most important of which are: the low level of awareness of the importance of digital media in promoting tourism, weak implementation of plans and follow-up in the fields of digital media. The Ministry actively uses the means of festivals, exhibitions and conferences to promote, the inadequacy of information disseminated through digital media
The study also reached several recommendations, the most important of which are:The necessity of inventing various methods and means in promoting tourism. The State should take care of tourism activity and monitor the adequate budget for promotions, and pay attention to digital media in promoting tourism
