Abstract

ABSTRACT International University of Africa Faculty: Mass Communication Title: The Impact of Indian Tamil Films on the Behavior of Sri Lankan Muslims- An Empirical Study in the Eastern Districts (Trincomalee, Baticaloa and Ampara) within the period of 2011-201. Researcher: Muhammed Hasan Abdul Cader This Research Titled as The Impact of Indian Tamil Films on the Behavior of Sri Lankan Muslims- An Empirical Study in the Eastern Districts (Trincomalee, Baticaloa and Ampara) within the period of (2011-2012) . The Researcher Aims is to achieve the following Goals: identifying the Behaviors reflected by the Movies, knowing the impact of the Indian Tamil Movies, disclosing the Size of the audience, and exploring the positive and negative aspects of Indian Tamil Films. The Researcher adopted the descriptive analytical method, and used interview and questionnaire as the Research Tools to get the necessary information and data, in order to achieve the objectives of the study. The most important findings of the Research were: The Research shows that, the frequent of collective watch is causing the lack of modesty within the individuals of family, that is why the watching is not desired and accepted socially to pass and familiar and accepted by adults and children, which it will be reflected in social upgrading or social normalization of forming people. The Research is indicating the impact of watching Tamil Films or individual behavior in traditional appearance by (Films) stars, whether in clothing or talking or behavior patterns. The research shows that, the Tamil is contributing for showing and introducing direction and ways for solving community Problems. The Research shows that, the overlap traditions in Srilanka community are not the results of watching the Films only, but there are more elements, in order to weak the religious deployment. The Research shows that, the traditional appearances producing by Films, has multiple side in srilanka Muslims community, whether in good and positive side or in meligant and negative side, which are appending damage in Islamic ethics, which has been entrenched in Srilanka Muslims community for decades.
