Abstract:
The study aims to identify the literacy programs and adult education in terms of objectives،
content، activities and teaching methods، in addition to the means used in all its positive and negative
aspects، and their effectiveness in social development.
The study included five chapters، which are:
Chapter One: the general framework for the study
The Researcher addressed the reasons to choose and study the problem of the study and its
importance, objectives، hypothesis، questions، limitations، methodology and tools and
terminology.
Chapter II: The theoretical framework
Chapter Two deals with the concept of literacy and adult education، the basis of its
objectives and properties، programs and institutions، the evolution of the movement of adult
education in Islam، and the reality and the evolution of the movement of adult education in the
Sudan، and models of the experiences of adult education in the Arab and European countries، also the
researcher to challenge and partnership، strategies and methodologies and constraints for literacy
programs
At the end of the chapter، Researcher dealt with previous studies that have studied relationship
with surrounding similarities and differences with the study.
Chapter III: The field study
The researcher explained the curriculum and the study population، samples and how to choose
the tools of the study، for which an appropriate statistical analysis is reached.
Chapter IV: Results
In this chapter، the researcher has presented the results of the study and concluded the chapter
discussing the study hypotheses in the light of the findings.
Chapter V: Summary
In this chapter، the researcher has addressed the study and sum up the most important results

Researcher reached a number of conclusions، including:
1. Curricula literacy and adult education have a significant impact on social development.
2- Teaching methods used in achieve the goals of social development.
3- Poor community awareness of the seriousness of literacy.
4- Weakness of the specific budget for literacy programs and adult education.

5- Lack of trained framework and weak competencies.
6- Lack of studies and researches in the field of literacy and adult education.
7- Weak system of monitoring and evaluation in the field of literacy and adult education، and
lack of frameworks eligible for the use of modern techniques in the field of monitoring and
follow-up and evaluation
Recommendations
Throughout the findings، the researcher recommends the following:
1. Mobilize the community and activate its capabilities to work in the field of
literacy and adult education.
2. The state should provide support and allocate a specific budget for literacy
programs and adult education.
3. Formation mechanisms for linking literacy projects and development plans.
4. Education is mandatory and compulsory for all the people of the country، in
addition to implement and follows up.
5. Literacy and Adult Education Network is highly needed for linking the
National Council for Literacy and Adult Education with its regional and
states departments for ease of data collection.
