Abstract:
The title of This study is The International University of Africa's Series For Teaching Arabic to Non- Native Speakers on the light of criteria of designing The basic book. This is applied to Book two with its two parts. The study is an evaluation one.
The study aimed to expose the bases on which the book was prepared and to which extend that the bases can be applied to the whole books of the series.
The problem of the study is reflected in the main question which is: what are the criteria and bases followed in desiging the International University of Africa’s Series of Arabic books particularly the basic second book of the series? This is to explore the positive and negative areas in the Series.
The aim of the study is to show the criteria that should Satisfied when designing books of teaching Arabic to non-native of its speakers.
The study resorted to the descriptive and analytic methodology which is suitable for such study. It used analytic tools that were designed by the researcher after looking into various tools prepared by anumber of Arabic teachers experts. The study also adopted the criteria of interviewing those who are concerned.
Top of the results that study came out with is that the Series of the books of the International University of Africa for teaching Arabic to non-native of its Speakers, proved to be designed on good criteria. The designers were so stick to the criteria that had been set up by the experts of teaching Arabic to its non-native Speakers.
The Study recommended that the Series should be completed by providing them with necessary audios mainly target dialogues and Similar Arabic sounds, adding necessary lists indexes and revising printing mistakes for next editions.
Among important suggestions, supplementing the Series with a student's dictionary for Common Arabic words and conducting more studies on the International University of Africa's Series in different realms of research.
