Abstract:
This study started by am introduction, principles of the research that included three chapters and conclusion,
The first topic addresses Islam in Nigeria; its starts and spread. The beginning of Arabic language prevails in 11th century at the beginning of Islam in Nigeria.
The second topic includes the way of spreading Arabic language in Nigeria.
The third topic deals with Kano state, and how Arabic language began to prevail there, Kano has a priority in spread of Arabic language to the whole of Nigeria.
The second chapter is titled Arabic language in Kano state, where the first topic deals with the identification of Arabic language in North Nigeria and how it was widely spread in the wide country of Nigeria.
The second topic deals with Arabic language in Hawsa states and a historical background about Hausa tribe. The third topic addressed the colonial periods in Hausa , and how it was realize to Arabic language. The fourth topic deals with the tradition Quranic system (Khalawi) in Kano state and its role in continuing Arabic language. We can see that the Quranic Khalwas played an important role in keeping Arabic language in Nigeria as general and specially in Kano State.
The third chapter titled: Kano Arabic literature. The first topic dealt with the historical background of poetry in Kano state. When it start? What situation those promote it? Who are the best poets in this state and the model of their poetry? It is clear that Arabic poetry did not stopped, but it continued unit now in Kano State specially and in the rest of North Nigeria.
The second topic included the purpose of the poetry and its model at various purposes. The third topic deals with literary in Kano state and its different types, then the study concluded with some results, the main of which is that as the poets in Kano state have limited their poetry in a traditional way, and most of their poetry stress praising , prosody , preaching and religious guidance.
