Abstract

This research studies the role of radio in spreading the Islamic call; it is practical study on the radio of Tayba in Khartoum Sudan 2008-2009. the main objective in this research is to fill a big gap in field of information in the Islamic religion and calling through modern media particular radio ,because of its important particulars and peculiars. Through a questionnaire the research came to conclusion that Radio Tayba has been able to spread Islam in a wide area. That emerges in transferring information and changing the attitudes of people towards the value of Islam. By that effort Radio Tayba was able to shorten the way and to change the classical efforts of the traditional Islamic preachers who couldn't reach the targeted groups for the Islamic call. From this research it became clear that Radio Tayba can be considered one of the most important channels for spreading Islam and disseminating the values of Islamic call. Whereas, it has been able to reach a big number of listeners in and out Sudan using the AM waves and satellite transmission. That was easy because the Radio station is using Nilesat satellite for its transmission. Among the most important things achieved by Radio Tayba was the people's awareness of Islam that came out of their listening to this radio channel. The situation was totally different before the existence of this radio service. The researcher became aware of the importance of this radio channel as a tool for calling people to Islam. This awareness came from studying the matter by classifying the research into four chapters, the first chapter contains the methodological framework, the second chapter is named The Islamic call. It includes three subchapters; Islam call: the concept, importance, and particulars. The second subchapter is named ethic and condition of spreading Islam the third subchapter, means of spreading Islam the and the third chapter was devoted to study the performance of radio in Sudan. The chapter included three subchapters, the establishment of radio in Sudan and its development, using radio for calling to Islam, the future of Sudanese Islamic radio channels.fourth chapter;Radio Tayba: the establishment, development, objectives, materials, programmes and status among the other Islamic radio channels. The fifth chapter; study field, which the researcher illustrated in it method of study, its kind, tool of gathering information, contain of the questionnaire, its credibility and stillness, way of its execution, and statistical remedy. It also contained the results of the questionnaire plus illustrations of view of the researcher about the results and conclusion. The recommendations include numerous points concerning Islamic call through radio services, and some suggestions for the enhancement of the work of Islamic call through radios. The study also contained appendices of the Qurnaic verses and Hadith which appeared in the research. And lastly there is an appendix of the sources and references and the table of contents.
