Abstract

This research took up the patterns of land use and environment problems at El Gedaref locality, which is facing some natural and human challenges in the utilization of its resources in the proper manner. And the study aims at the survey, analysis and evaluation of the dominant land use patterns in the area of study and the factors affecting environment problems, and defining the natural and human problems that curb utilization of the environment's resources. And in order to realize the goals of the study, several means were used to collect information represented in the questionnaire, personal interview, reports, observation, aerial photo interpretation and maps. And the study has revealed that the most important land use patterns in the area are agriculture with its different types, pastures, forests, residence and services. And the increase in population and their increasing needs lead to the emergence of natural and human problem which had a negative impact on the environment. And the study has set hypothesizes to understand the dimensions of these problems and through the analysis of information and data the results of hypothesizes, and through these results of problems became clear, which will lead to rehabilitation of the resources and production infrastructures which achieves environmental balance and hence achieve the greatest amount of success is achieved.
