This research aims to identify the effectiveness of cognitive counseling program in reducing the Anxiety of Exam among The repeaters Female Students of The Sudanese Secondary School Certificate in Soba and Alshuhada Locality- Khartoum State. The researcher used the Experimental approach with one group-pre and post test. The research sample consists of (21) female students (8) scientific students and (14) Arts students who are selected through purposive Sampling technique. The data was collected through bibliographical information sheet, exam anxiety scale and Cognitive Behavioral program, it consists of (12) sessions with two sessions per week for one and half Month. The data analyzed by the Computer Applying the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) using the following Tests: (T) Test for one sample, (T) Test for two related Samples to find the differences in variables, Pearson correlation Coefficient, chi- square test, Alpha Coronbackh equation, split half Coefficient and ANOVA Test. The important results are as follows: The general Trait of Exam Anxiety before the application of counseling program among repeaters female secondary school Students in Soba and Alshuhada Locality Khartoum State is high. There are significant statistical differences in pre and post test in the Exam Anxiety favor of post tes among repeaters female secondary school Students in Soba and Alshuhada Locality- Khartoum State. There are no significant statistical differences in the Exam Anxiety among repeaters female secondary school Students in Soba and Alshuhada Locality And the variable of Specialization (Scientific, Arts). There are no significant statistical differences in the Exam Anxiety among repeaters female secondary school Students in Soba and Alshuhada and the variable of the Number of repetition. There are no significant statistical differences in the Exam Anxiety among repeaters female secondary school Students in Soba and Alshuhada and the variable of previous Academic Achievement. There are no significant statistical differences in the Exam Anxiety among repeaters female secondary school Students in Soba and Alshuhada and the Educational Level of Parents after the application of counseling program. Finally, recommendations such as the effectiveness of counseling program among secondary school students to solve their psychological and academic problems, also series of seminars should be presented about good strategies of study habits in order to reduce the anxiety of exam among secondary school students The researcher Suggest to study The effectiveness of Cognitive counseling program to develop achievement Motivation and to improve strategies of study habits among secondary school students in Khartoum or other States in Sudan, also references were Cited at the end of the research. |
