Abstract:
This study came under the title of the effect of local voluntary organizations in caring for students in providing meals to reduce school dropout, in the period 2018-2019, applying to the locality of Jabal Awliya, Al-Azhari unit.
The importance of this study stems from reducing school dropout among students in schools by caring for students and providing meals for them. This research contributes to shedding light on the problem of diversion in public schools in the Jabal Awlia locality, Al-Azhari unit, and identifying the reasons that led to this phenomenon, while setting the necessary precautions to verify it. This study aimed to identify local voluntary organizations working in caring for students in government schools, and the problem of this study is represented in the main question. What is the effect of local voluntary organizations in caring for students to reduce school dropout and through this study, the researcher used the interview tool in data collection, it was done graphically and statistically. Using the computer program and statistical packages for social sciences (spss), this study reached the following results:
1. The percentage of beneficiaries of meals inside schools was 100%.
2. The students are completely satisfied with the meals provided
3. The meals led to academic stability and academic achievement in schools
4. There is no difference between students in receiving meals inside schools
Based on the results of the study, the researcher suggested several recommendations, the most important of which are:
1. The necessity of generalizing meals in governmental schools, whose conditions are characterized by poverty of their students Introducing a school nutritionist.
2. Introducing a psychologist and a social worker in schools
3. Organizations working in the education sector should support all government schools in Khartoum State.
