| Abstract: | Abstract The purpose of this study is to detect the impact of computer use on the development of student skills in chemistry tests, and student attitudes towards computer use for assistance (Virtual Laboratory) in chemical testing. The study population consisted of all students of the first semester of Year 2011- 2012 AD, of Faculty of Education, University of Kordofan (the first level - general) numbered 180 students. The researcher used the experimental method and the descriptive method. The study sample is of 90 students (male & female), has been chosen and distributed randomly to three equal groups: control group of 30 students were taught using the traditional method, while the experimental group, 30 students were taught by using the computers in teaching, the experimental confirmation of 30 male and female students were taught using the inquiry- oriented laboratory. The researcher taught the three groups using the teacher factor, the study continued for eight weeks. The experimental, the monitoring and the confirmation groups were subjected to the of the test station. The experimental group was subjected to the questionnaire prepared by the researcher to find out their views on the use of computers in chemistry teaching. Six arbitrators were confirmed the veracity of the tool, sure of the stability of the test was verified according to Spearman and Brown equation, its value reached 0.94. After confirming the stability and ratification of the test the following statistical methods were used: arithmetic mean, standard deviation. Also used (T) test and the percentages and (SPSS). The output of study as follows: 1. There is no statistically significant differences at the significance level (0.05) in developing the skills in chemistry experiments compared between the computer laboratory method and the normal computer lab. 2. There are no statistically significant differences at the significance level (0.05) in developing observation skills in chemistry experiments compared between the computer laboratory method and the normal computer lab. 3. There are no statistically significant differences at the significance level (0.05) in developing application skills in chemistry experiments compared between the computer laboratory method and the normal computer lab. 4. There is no statistically significant difference at the significance level (0.05) in developing analytical skills in chemistry experiments compared between the computer laboratory method and the normal computer lab. 5. There is no statistically significant difference at the significance level (0.05) in developing control skills and dealing with the tools and devices in chemistry experiments compared between the computer laboratory method and the normal computer lab. 6. There are positive attitudes of students towards computer use in processing chemical experiments for the students of the first semester, general. |
