This study aims at knowing the reality of teaching practice programmes at the Sudanese colleges of Education and the required development. In this study the researcher employed the descriptive approach being suitable for the nature of study. The field study was applied on student teachers, educational supervisors, teaching practice directors in a number of Sudan universities, i.e. Africa International University, Bakht Aruda University, Aljazaeera University, Shendi University and Khartoum University.
The research tool was a questionnaire directed towards a random sample that encompasses (151) male and female student teacher, (45) inspector, supervisor and teaching practice director. Also, an interview was held to ten experts in the field.
To achieve the face validity of the research tools, the researcher submitted the tools to a number of judges and according to their recommendations the required emendations were executed.
On light of data analysis the study achieved a number of findings, the most important of which that there are clear objectives of the teaching practice at Sudanese faculties of education, the time allocated for demonstration lessons is sufficient and provided student teachers with good skills, the delay of teaching special teaching methods affected the teaching practice negatively and the period of teaching practice itself is insufficient. Furthermore, the supervisor did not explain to student-teachers the objectives of teaching practice.
On the light of the findings, the researcher gave a number of recommendations and likewise some suggestions. |
