Abstract:
This research aims to identify the competencies required for a teacher of Islamic education in the foundation phase ( Episode III ) and to determine their significance . The researcher used the descriptive approach. The study has included community teachers of Islamic education in the foundation phase ( Episode III ) , in the state of Khartoum, Locality Arkaweet .
The sample was randomly chosen from the community 's original study . After application of the tool the following results were reached:
1. Emphasis on the importance of goal-setting efficiencies in the development of the learner socially, personally and spiritually .
2. Attention to the competencies of lesson planning helps to achieve the goals.
3. Implementation of lessons competencies include attention to the presentation of the material in sequence and to link it to other subjects with the use of teaching aids activities.
4. Classroom management competencies requires the teacher to play many roles , including the distribution of tasks to students, the creation of physical and social environment and monitor the behavior of students .
5. Efficiencies of teaching methods emphasize the diversity and the trend towards modern methods based on the effectiveness of the learner, such as how to solve problems and programmed instruction.
6. Evaluation efficiencies necessitate diversification of the questions and the continuation of the calendar.
Based on these results under the following recommendation :
1. Work on a teaching course on competencies in each of the subjects of Islamic education .
2. Work on applied skills of the competencies in a preparation program for Islamic education teachers.
3. Training teachers on various teaching skills .
