Abstract

Abstract The researcher has studied imam ibn khuzeymas opinions in the field of usul-al-fiqh (jurisprudence fundamentals) as derived from chapterization of his book, (sahih ibn khuzeyma). The researcher studied imam ibn khuzeymas biography including his birth and death, besides making an introduction of his book touching identification of the book in terms of its name, its contents and the methodology employed by the writer. the socio-political and scientific situations of imam ibn khuzeymas time are also discussed. As for the imams contribution to the field of usul-al-fiqh ( jurisprudence fundamentals), his opinion on sources of sharia rules such as Quran, the sunna, the consensus and analogy have been covered in this research. His opinions on the sharia rule itself from the perspective of its classification as obligatory, optional, prohibitory, disliked and permissive make essential part of this research. the researcher has also touched on the imams opinions pertaining to terminologies of usulalfiqh (jurisprudence fundamentals) which carry linguistic significance by classifying a proof of sharia rule as whole, interpreted, general, special, common, construed and contradictory. his views on balancing of the sharia proofs are discussed too. Finally, the researcher puts forward results and recommendations at the end of this research. An appendix is also included for easy access of the topics discussed herein.
