Abstract

Saudi Arabia occupies a strategic place in the Arab and Islamic world for its initiatives and leading role in solving the problems of the region. Since 2010, the region has witnessed the revolutions of the Arab Spring, which resulted in several crises that created a vacuum in the Middle East region. And Saudi Arabia found itself compelled to play an active role accordingly. The study assumed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia possesses elements that can play an effective role in the regional. Iran used these revolutions to achieve its objectives in the region, which posed a threat to the security of the Middle East, which influenced the Saudi Arabia's military intervention in Yemen. The researcher used the curriculum historical and descriptive approach to attain the results of the above hypotheses, namely that the Kingdom's possession of military and economic capabilities, Saudi Arabia's perception of the danger of Iranian expansion which increased after the eruption of the Arab revolutions and the result of those revolutions. This expansion of the threat to the region was the reason for the Kingdom to adopt a foreign interventionist policy in Yemen in order to protect the security of the region. The study concluded with the most important recommendations: Continuing to keep cooperation among the countries of the region and collectiveworktoobtain a comprehensive solutionfor the problems in the region, and collaboration against the Iranian project.
