Abstract

This research aims to identify the role of strategic planning in attaining rural development in Sudan, taking Kamlin locality in Gezira State as a case study. The most important objectives of the research are the following:- To Identify the role of strategic planning in attaining rural development. To Identify constraints of rural development strategic planning and recommend necessary solutions. The most important research hypotheses are: Strategic planning leads to successful rural development. There is a positive relation between strategic planning and the complementarity of rural development. Research method The research uses the descriptive analytical method and relies on the research uses the Questionnaire to collect primary data. The research also uses the secondary references such as books, researches, periodic , papers and the internet. The most important findings of the research are:- Training of employees in strategic planning issues contributes to successful rural development attainment. And Lack of tightened coordination between different locality departments leads to intra- administrative conflicts. Strategic planning for rural development positively contributes to integrated official and popular efforts. The most important recommendations of the research: Higher Administration needs to increasingly enhance capacities of strategic planning of staff in the area of strategic plning. Tighten coordination between different departments associated with strategic planning of rural development. Strengthen partnership in developing strategic plan for rural development with special consideration of popular role.
