Abstract: The researcher addressed the issue of job enrichment and the attempt of its application in governmental institutions. Sudanese Petroleum Corporation was chosen as a case study for being a unit active in a promising sector which demands good cooperation and the willingness to work, and was thus chosen to inspect the scope of the application of job enrichment in its functioning. The problem of the researcher was represented in the main question: Does job enrichment play a role in the success and efficiency of the performance of governmental institutions? A number of resulting subsidiary questions followed: The hypothesis were that there is a statically significant correlation between job enrichment and material and moral incentives, a statically significant correlation between the tasks autonomy and work environment, and a strong correlation between feedback and the improvement and enhancement of performance. The analytical descriptive method, which is based on the collection and interpretation of data, was applied, and questionnaires were used to survey the study sample which consisted of the employees of Sudanese Petroleum Corporation, and the researcher employed the SPSS program, the statistical package for social sciences. The main results of the research confirmed the hypotheses such as the presence of a statistical correlation between job enrichment and material and moral incentives, and the presence of a positive correlation between feedback and the improvement and enhancement of performance. Also affirmed was the presence of a statistically significant correlation between tasks autonomy and work environment. The most important recommendation reached by the researcher was the necessity of placing utmost importance on training programs and their association with performance evaluations, and the need of both the job and the employee for these programs; the importance of providing employees with the results of their evaluations to improve weakness and enhance strengths, which will positively reflect on the development and enhancement of their performance; the necessity of keeping up with the technological development; redesigning work through job enrichment for raising the levels of performance and increasing productivity; and the necessity of materially and morally incentivizing employees and the association of rewards with performance.
