| dc.description.abstract | The study aimed to identify the role of foreign direct investments in consolidating economic development in Ethiopia, focusing on the Ethiopian industrial sector. The study dealt with the relationship between the investment climate and the attraction of foreign investments to the industrial sector. It also discussed the relation between the gross national product and the increase of the country's exports and its impact on the growth of the Ethiopian industrial sector in the period of 2005-2015. The research sought to identify these variables and their impact on investment as the main and fundamental factors of the investment process. The problem of the research is summarize in whether foreign direct investment has a role in achieving economic development in Ethiopia, and whether the state has created a suitable investment climate in terms of economic, political and social. To investigate the research problem, the study was based on three hypotheses. Improving the investment climate in the country leads to attract foreign investments in Ethiopia, and there is a statistically significant relationship between FDI and GDP, and also the increase in FDI flows leads to growth in the industrial sector. The analytical, historical and statistical descriptive method was followed, Depending on primary and secondary sources. Through data analysis, the research results in the following point:- - Creation of suitable investment climate in Ethiopia positively affects attracting foreign investment - Foreign investment inflows have a positive impact on the activity and performance of the industrial sector. - increase in foreign investment led to an increase in gross domestic product, which indicates that there is economic development in the country. based on the result the study recommended that Ethiopia should Improve industrial sector by providing special funding from the state budget and activating the role of the Ethiopian Development Bank, and Working to create an improved investment climate in terms of legally and economically by following a suitable financial and economic policy in the country. | en_US |
