Abstract

The research includes the gods that are worshiped instead of Allah the Almighty, as mentioned in the Holly Quran. It clarifies the concept of the gods and the worship linguistically and terminologically as well as the terrible consequence to the gods, which are worshiped rather than Allah the Almighty, and those who worship them in the existing life and the Hereafter. The research involves the arguments that the polytheists mention to justify their worshipping for these gods and rejecting the prophets calls asking them to worship Allah the Almighty and no other god. The research also mentions the reasons why these gods are worshiped .It shows some characteristics and attributes of the real God and those gods , which are worshiped instead of Allah the Almighty and states examples of these gods , as mentioned in the Holly Quran , such as ; , idols, angels ,images , prophets, scientists, righteous, and other deities since the appearance of polytheism on earth .The study points out the negation of these deities and proves that they don’t possess the characteristics of Allah the Almighty .Some of these characteristics are the ability of creation , livelihood , knowledge of the unseen world ,legislation, offering benefits , doing harm and arranging matters . Therefore they are not worth worship. The research has concluded that the future prediction or knowledge of unseen world is the characteristic of Allah the Almighty only , and is never shared by any of his creations .Giving any of these characteristic to someone instead of Allah the Almighty indicates that he is considered as a God.
