dc.description.abstractThe study tackled the exchange rate polices which have become the concern of all countries because of its important role in solving the problems of balance of payments through its impact on the index of balance trade in Sudan in the period from 2001 to 2015 , the study tried to answer the questions , to what extent do the exchange rate policies applied during that period affect the trade balance in sudan through their impact on the movement of exports and imports , to what extent do the policies of the reduction of exchange rate succeed in boosting exports and reducing imports and the business balance of payments, the study aimed at arriving at the extent to which the exchange rate polices have impact on the balance of trade, the extent to which the balance of trade affects the change in the exchange rate of Sudanese pound in terms of US dollars. Highlighting the role of the polices that aim at reducing the exchange rates affect the balance of trade, there are statistically significant differences between exchange rate and exports and between exchange rates and imports, the policies of devaluation of currency stabilize the balance of trade. The historical as well as descriptive analytical method were adopted, the historical was used to explore the historical development of exchange rates , balance of trade during the period of the study, and the analytical methods was adopted to find out the impact of exchange -rates policies on the balance of trade during the study period. The most important results that have arrived at are: the exchange rates policies have direct impact on the balance of trade, the polices of the reduction of exchange-rates have direct impact on the balance of trade, there is a positive relationship between exchange rates the deficit in the balance the trade, the reduction of exchange rates polices are infective in boosting the Sudanese exports because there are other factors that determine the value of exports such as increase in the cost of production and their poor quality, much of the Sudanese imports are strategic and essential commodities that have negative impact on the balance of trade, the Sudan’s foreign trade and exports have been affected by the economic embargo that has been imposed on Sudan and repercussions of the global financial crisis, the impact of separation of the South Sudan on the foreign trade due to cost of oil earnings. The most important recommendations: the country should reduce its imports , particularly, luxurious goods and to concentrate on production in puts, the policy of opennes on Asian markets should be encouraged, diversification of exports, the country should focus on mining and agriculture as alternative for oil, real and stable exchange rates should be set that will enhance the overall goals that contribute in achieving balance of economy adopting suitable polices to address internal disequilibrium such as reducing the government expenditure.en_US
