dc.description.abstractThis research aimed at identifying THE OBJECTIVES OF ISLAMIC JURISPRUDENCE IN FORBBIDING TAKING ALCOHOL AND EFFECTS OF NOT TAKING REALISTICS MEASURES ON PREVENTING IT. The research was conducted in Zanzibar. The research was organized and divided into five chapters. The first chapter addresses the background of the research with three sub sections; the first section covers the importance of the research, objectives of the research and statement of the problem while the second section is all about research methodologies, the scope of the research, tools of the research, and procedures of research and assumptions of the research. And the last section covers the related literatures, approaches of the research and significance of the research. Chapter two explains the short history of Zanzibar; its geographical location, political system, the history of Islam in Zanzibar and social and cultural situation of Zanzibar. The third chapter, explains the meaning legitimates purpose of the Islamic jurisprudence, division of legitimates purpose Islamic jurisprudence, the rationale of legitimates purpose of Islamic jurisprudence. Also it explains the history of the development of legitimates purpose of Islamic jurisprudence from the time of Prophet (SAW), companions and contemporary life of today. Chapter four focuses on legitimates purpose Islamic jurisprudence in stern alcoholism, it provides the meaning alcoholism and differences between jurisprudence scholars on alcoholism, further more provide decision on alcoholism according to Islamic jurisprudence and law of Zanzibar. It also mentions the reasons for spread of alcoholism and drinking in the Zanzibar. Moreover, the chapter touches legitimates purpose of Islamic jurisprudence in preserving human intellectuals, the position of mind in preserving the dignity of human being and items of preserving human mind. The last chapter, it covers the effects of alcoholism on individual religion status, personality, brain of individuals as well as negative effects to the community, Zanzibar in particular. The research ended by providing possible solutions of alcoholism and other drugs. Also, the key findings and suggestions to the Zanzibar`s community and Islam in general on the objectives of Islamic jurisprudence in forbidding alcohol and its impacts.en_US
