dc.description.abstractAbstract This study aims at clarifying World Bank financing activities in Africa; study case on Chad , and to know the nature of loans it allots to those countries and the extent of its utilization and investment in its developmental projects. To achieve these objectives the researcher has followed the descriptive and analytical approach with a case study. The hypotheses of this study: 1. Loans and aid from the World Bank supports economic development efforts in Africa. 2. Consistent policies and funding mechanisms of the World Bank with the plans and programs for development in the State of Chad. 3. the best use of loans and World Bank assistance is the reason for lack of development and the emergence of unemployment and poverty in these countries. The most important results of this study are: 1 - World Bank projects in the Republic of Chad have a positive impact on the national economy, which left a significant economic impact during this period. 2. Structural adjustment programs will not contribute to the growth and economic stability in most African countries despite the political and social costs brought about by the programs, among its big impact is elimination of subsidies on goods and services, and high taxes, which in turn led to price rise of goods and services, and these procedures deflationary in nature led to a lack of supply, which put the African countries to stagnant economy. 3. Conditions and policies of grant funding followed by the World Bank in financing the projects have become inflexible and inconsistent with the policies of borrowing countries. Finally, the study recommends, to create the right climate for the utilization of grants and loans granted by international institutions and to increase The World Bank contribution of loans and assistance in developmental projects in Africa. Also the World Bank must adopt a policy focus on the priority sectors of the strategic commodities.en_US
