dc.description.abstractAbstract This study deals with the issue of evaluation of disposal of medical waste through the case study of Shariq Al-Neel Hospital, so the study explaining what of medical waste and its classification, also showing the health effects of the waste and health-care through improper disposal operations and without following the standard and the Sudanese standards. The study showed the medical waste treatment in the light of the foundations of accepted standards and study follow the descriptive method and used of interviews as a tool to collect data and information as well as personal observation and viewing and access to documents and reports, so the study found that through the field work that the disposal process of medical waste in Sudan, specifically hospital of the Shariq Al-Neel does not take place according to the principles and standards which validates the hypothesis, which was stand by the study and proved by the study that the most important results are as the following : - That a hospital of the Shariq Al-Neel is the one of the health institutions in the country produces medical waste and medical waste management system at the hospital where the weakness in some stages and there is no record of waste produced in quantities and there is no coordinating with respect to waste management and the lack of training programs for workers. The most important recommendations are: - Activation of legislation and laws, also to introduction a new law specially for hospital medical waste and must to tighten punishment for infractions and support of the entire Supreme medical departments of the hospital. - The need for the appointment of a monitoring mechanism for medical waste in hospital bears the direct supervisory responsibility for gathering, sorting and classification and transfer of medical waste, and also to training and rehabilitation, promoting capacity of the hospital workers staff.en_US
