Abstract: This research aims at investigating the recent narrations (prophetic traditions) about Muslim woman’s veil (Hijab) and opinions of jurists on it, as well as to recognize the religious scholars’ attitude towards covering of woman’s face and hands. It aims also, at finding out Hijab benefits and subsequent disadvantages if it is abandoned. All the above is applied to Chad State .The research is divided into five chapters: Chapter I: Deals with the essentials of research. Chapter II: Provides the linguistic and idiomatic meaning of Hijab, its conditions, benefits and subsequent disadvantages (immoralities) resulting from its abandonment. Chapter III: Discusses the narrations about the veil (Hijab) of Muslim woman as far as narration is concerned which is divided into: Narrations of Hijab as set forth, in both Sahih Al-Bukhari and Muslim, or one of them, narrations on Hijab in the four Sunans (Abi- Daoud, Attermizy, Annasaie Ibn-Maja) and narrations on Hijab (Prophetic Traditions) from other sources out of the aforementioned six books. Chapter IV: Narrations on Hijab as comprehended. In this chapter it is mentioned that scholars have disagreed in comprehending such narrations and they have been divided into two sectarians. 1. A sectarian of those who see compliance with covering the face and hands of a woman is imperative. 2. A sectarian of those who understood such narrations do not denote that covering of face and hands of a woman is imperative and it is not applicable to all women. The researcher quoted many proofs and justifications of each sectarian, discussed them and eventually differentiated between them as required. Chapter V: Hijab in Chad.
