Abstract: The present research studies the impact of the Songhay language on the teaching of the Arabic language in a practical way in the field on the secondary cycle in Mali, in particular the Institute of Training of the Teachers, l’Hégire of Timbuktu. It includes the problem, the interest, the objectives, the questions, the hypotheses, the methodology adopted, the synthesis tools and the definition of symbols. o A historical study of the place, the current republic of Mali; starting from the Ghana, Mali and Songhoy empires by approaching the foundation; its date and its geographical location, the founders, the political, economic, cultural and military regimes, the advent of Islam and its impact on these different regimes, and ultimately the Republic of Mali: its geography, political life, administrative and economic, and the linguistic and educational situation. o The conduct of a contrastive study between Songhay and Arabic in terms of:  morphological: the noun, the verb and the functional elements.  Syntaxic: the structural system of each language, the example sentences in consideration of the communicative function, and elements of composition: simple, compound and complex. o The conducts of a practical field study: it includes the methodology, the study environment, the definition of the method of use of the tools, the samples, the analysis of the questionnaires and the synthesis of the results.  PRINCIPLE RESULTS: The study showed:  The points of divergence between the two languages raise didactic difficulties, such as the use of the definite article, the gender and number agreement of the verb with the subject from which it is separated; as well as the subject whose attribute forms a nominative or verbal proposition, phrasal verbs and functional prepositions.  The existence of a positive trend towards the Arabic language among the Malian people in general, particularly among students who are willing to develop it.
