Abstract: Abstract Educational planning and its impact on the overall national development in Sudan (analytical study) "1984-2004" This research dealt with educational planning and its impact on the overall national development in Sudan, taking Khartoum state as a model. Divided the study into five chapters; the 1st. chapter, the general framework of the study, the 2nd. Chapter the theoretical framework and previous studies, the 3rd. Chapter the field procedures, the 4th. Chapter analysis and discussion of the results, the 5th. Chapter main findings and recommendations and proposals; the research followed the descriptive analytical method; the research has sources and references in both Arabic and English. The research concluded through statistical analysis of the data on educational planning, collected through the questionnaire of a number 55 persons who work in educational planning in the Department of Educational Planning Federal Ministry of Education ; administration of educational planning in Khartoum state and the Secretariat of Strategic Planning and Economic Planning, Ministry of Finance and National Economy. The research found that there are few planners specialists who collect data and there is a difficulty in obtaining data and basic statistics .There are few specialists in hardware and equipment for collecting information and statistical data , there is no train enough for professionals in educational planning , specialists of educational planning concentrating in information and quantitative data regardless of quality. It is difficult to provide statistical data and information periodically, whether monthly or quarterly. There is weakness in the financial resources allocated for Educational Planning and scarcity of financial resources allocated for the rehabilitation and training of specialists abroad. There is weakness in the coordination between the departments of educational planning and economic planning departments. There are no indications linking the Federal Department of Educational Planning and Human Development departments in Sudan. There is lack of application of the research conducted in the field of educational planning on human development and there was no coordination between the Federal Department of Educational Planning and the Ministry of Labor. There are not exploited for efficient specialized for the preparation of national specialists in educational planning. There is weakness in the coordination between the Federal Department of Educational Planning and educational planning departments at the states; there is poor coordination between the administration of educational planning and federal departments of educational planning in the Ministry of Finance and National Economy. This study highlights the importance of educational planning and linking national development overall, which depends on human development which are the outputs of education; there is lack of research in this field, therefore the research is considered as an addition in this respect. The research recommends for avoiding negatives currently exist in the field of educational planning and tries to address them to achieve the educational planning role in the future.
