Abstract: Title of this research: A Proposed Concept for Designing a Curriculum for the Teaching of Arabic Language for Students of Elementary integrated School in Nairobi, Kenya (Second level). The aim of the research is to provide a suggested scenario for designing an Arabic language curriculum for elementary school students in Nairobi, after learning about the basics and scientific specifications of curriculum design for Arabic language teaching and contributing to provide appropriate solutions to the problems of teaching Arabic as a second language in the integrated primary schools in Nairobi, And to disclose the status of current teaching Arabic language in integrated primary schools in Kenya. To achieve these goals, the researcher followed the descriptive approach. Where the research community of teachers both male and female of Arabic language for non-native speakers in the integrated primary schools, and their numbers (100) teacher male and female, the researcher choose from this community a random sample of (50) teachers from both male and female. As for the research tool, the researcher designed a questionnaire for teachers from both male and female in the basic stage. The results of this research are as follows: First: The results of the proposed curriculum, which are as follows: The goals of the proposed curriculum, should be of three levels: general educational goals, educational goals, and behavioral goals. The content of the proposed curriculum should be related to the objectives of teaching Arabic to non-native speakers, and includes educational attitudes with linguistic cultural and communicative content, taking into consideration the requirements of the learners, and taking into account individual differences between the learners. The teaching methods that can be used in this proposed approach are helpful in achieving the desired goal. The teaching methods that can be used in the proposed curriculum should be closely related to the goal to be achieved, appropriate for the age of the learners, appropriate for the teaching method, and to attract students' attention. Evaluation methods in the proposed curriculum should be linked to the objectives of the curriculum, be economically compressive and continuous. Second: The result of the current used curriculum which are as follows: The objectives of the content of the curriculum of teaching Arabic in these schools is not linked to the objectives of teaching Arabic to non-Arabic speakers, and is unclear, does not meet the needs of students and their wishes, and does not suit their nature and mental abilities. The results of the analysis show that the characteristic of the content is not statistically significant, indicating that the content of the curriculum of the Arabic language in these schools does not take into account the wishes of the students, does not keep peace with the spirit of the age and its progress, and students cannot speak Arabic fluently, Taking into account the linguistic requirements of each stage of growth. It is clear through the results of the analysis that the distinctive characteristic of teaching methods is not statistically significant. This indicates that the methods used do not help achieve the objectives of teaching Arabic to non-Arabic speakers. Schools need a lot of modern educational means such as computer, smart board, and other means that keep peace with the facts of the age. The evaluation in these schools is not done by different means of evaluation. The evaluation does not achieve the overall growth of the students. It does not include the elements of the language and its four skills. It does not help to know the strengths and weaknesses. The researcher made some recommendations, including: 1 - Develop a curriculum for teaching Arabic in integrated primary schools according to the scientific foundations and theories and trends of modern Arabic language teaching to other languages speakers, and the goals of this approach should be specific and its objectives are clear. 2 –The continues training for Arabic language teachers in the primary stage to keep abreast of modern developments in the ways and methods of modern teaching used in teaching foreign languages. 3 - Work on the preparation of textbooks to teach the Arabic language on the latest guidelines for the design of the educational that has been achieved by experience of learning the Arabic language for non-Arabic speakers and others.
