Abstract

This book (funeral rulings) consists of seven chapters of which I rendered into English language the first four chapters. Chapter one includes: importance of frequent remembrance of death, unpreferableness of wishing death because of detriment, use of prohibited medication, blood transfusion, evidences supporting blood donation, impermissibility of compensation of blood and organs transfusion, rulings governing medication with human organs known as organs transplantation, quarantine, sick visiting, what to say when visiting a patient, permissibility of a sick to complain. Chapter two comprises: desirability of will writing, abrogation of will verse, bequest of the third of one’s property, minors’ will and prodigal wills’, heirs’ bequest its content. Chapter three covers: dictating the dying the words of testimony, what to be done after departure of the spirit, dead bathing and its ruling, who performs the bathing, its method and what if a man only attended by women and dead woman attended by only men and none of them attended by unmarriageable person, enshrouding, when a person dies in the state of Ihram, the martyr and the miscarried fetus. Chapter four encompasses: virtue of following the funeral procession, funeral prayer and attending the burial, banning women from joining the funeral procession, hurrying up with the dead, funeral prayer (its rulings and manner), and permissibility of prayer over immoral persons, rulings governing funeral prayer in the grave yard. Rulings regarding funeral prayer in the mosque, permissibility of prayer over the grave for someone who has not attended congregational, and funeral prayer over an absentee.
