Abstract: This Study deals with one of the important issues related to the preparation of Arabic language teaching subjects, namely, (the foundation of selection vocabulary for curriculum in teaching Arabic to non-native speakers) applied to the first book of the series Open University of Sudan. The researcher in this topic dealt with the assistance of what been wrote about the studies and literature and opinions of experts in this field in order to reach the objectives of this study. So the study consisted trouble answering the following question: What is the scientific foundations and the criteria upon which the selection the vocabulary of curriculum in teaching Arabic to non-native speakers and the availability of it? So the one of the main objectives of this study is that : must to determining the foundations of scientific criteria for the selection of vocabulary and highlight their importance and the disclosure of the positive and negative aspects of the first book of a series Open University of Sudan with regard to the certain side of the vocabulary and foundations selected. Research used descriptive and analytical as the methods in this study, also the tools of this research as follows: 1. Linguistic content analysis tool (The certain partial with the vocabulary) which the researcher has been able to formulate questions by combining different views and tools for experts in this field. 2. Interview so as to promote the practical side based on the researcher observation . Also the researcher expected to benefit from this study, those involved in the field of teaching Arabic to non-native speakers. The most important findings of the study was as the follow: - The first book of the Open University of Sudan series carries most of the good specifications in the field of teaching Arabic to non-native speakers, especially in the field of vocabulary. Also the most important recommendations of the study is: - Must to commitment to the scientific foundations and criteria in the selection of vocabulary by the type of the program in order to achieve the determination .
