Abstract: This study aimed to find out the relationship between social media communication programs via smart phones and psychological and educational compatibility for university students through some variables such as sex, university, daily average usage, and average expenses. In order to achieve these objectives, the study was based on the analytical descriptive method and the survey questionnaire was used to collect data. The research was conducted on a sample of 372 students from universities of Khartoum locality. The results of this study showed a weak positive correlation between content, psychological, and educational compatibility. There was also a correlation between the time interval usage and the student's academic activity. The study found a correlation between the social media and the psychological and educational compatibility according to the student's housing, the daily expenditure rate. There is no effect on the psychological and educational compatibility according to the type of university or the type of application used by the student. The study concluded with the set of suggestions and recommendations, including holding awareness seminars for students and parents about the dangers of misuse of social media via smart phones, to avoid harmful publishing, not believing rumors and taking care of documentation, Take advantage of the benefits of social media programs and the use of information technology in disseminating knowledge, sharing information and conducting similar studies related to social media.
