Abstract: This research tittled “counselling needs for secondary and its relationship to academic adjustment- applied research on secondary students in the city of Damazin, the research aimed at knowing the character of the counselling need (psychological, family and social) for the secondary school students in Damazin city, also arranging the the counselling needs according to their significance and priority, it also aimed at knowing the difference in counselling needs based on sex and level of study, also knowing the character of academic adjustment amongest seconday school students, also studying the relationship between counselling needs and academic adjusment for the secondary school students, the researcher adopted descriptive method as a research methodology, she also used questionnaire as a research tool, the population of the research comprised of 443 students, the main research finding are as follows: the counselling needs for secondary school students in Damazin is characterized by low level, the counselling needs for the secondary students in damazin can be arranged horizontary as follow: a. Psychological counselling need. b. Family counselling needs. c. Social counselling needs. There is no statistical significance difference in counseelling needs in acccordace to sex, and there is a statistical significance in counselling needs for secondary school students in accordance to school level in favor of first year students, also academic adjustment is characterised by high level, and there is is a relationship between counselling needs and academic adjustment among secondary school students, at the end of the research the researcher came with important recommendations as follows; the counsellors should conduct counselling needs assesment at the beginning of every new academic year they can benefit from the scale designed for this research, looking at the counselling needs when planning and designing the curriculum, also conducting conferences, workshops and lectures with the participation of guardians to study the counselling needs for the secondary school students.
