| Abstract: | Abstract This study examines conflict resolutions ح according to international law legislations :Ogaden region as an example.Intentionally to provide legal resolutions for conflict between Ogaden and Ethiopian people in accordance with legislations and rulings of public international law.The importance of this study is reflected in approaching an essential problem taking place in Ogaden region where conflict causes and legitimacy should be identified to determine legal means for settling this conflict.As for methodological aspect,inductive,analytical,descriptive and historical methods are used. Statement of problem of this study is reflected in the fact that Ogaden conflict is still a neglected issue in spite of its menace on African continent peace and security.Negligence of this issue motivated the researcher to adopt it and state several enquiries such as:To what extend this conflict is legitimized to Ogaden people?When did this conflict start?What is the legal position of Ogaden region historically?Do Ogaden people have right for obtaining self recognition?What proofs do Ogaden and Ethiopian people have for possessing Ogaden region according to international law recognitions?What agreements and pacts had British government assigned in favor of Ethiopia according to international law regulations ? Finally the study concluded to several findings stating that the best ways for conflict resolutions are better attained through debates,negotiations,mutual intelligibility ,keeping political issues away from violence and force.In addition,legally during pre ط colonization period ,Ogaden continued for about four centuries as an independent state politically and economically . The study recommends the following:international community should stop supporting Ethiopian government with political aids(military and non military).In addition,they should enforce Ethiopian government respect human rights and killing of civilians in Ogaden region.Ogaden people should be given right of self recognition in accordance with principles of United Nations' conventions and international law regulations |
