Abstract

ABSTRACT

This research was conducted to study the efficiency of supply chain management and its performance’s effect in Giad Trucks Company during the period of (2008-2011).

Data was collected through a questionnaire which contained measurable points and ideas . Then the researcher used the analytical method to estimate and evaluate the workers’ responses.

The main findings was the supply chain management has high efficiency according to continuous improvement in supply system and good selection of suppliers . Beside that , the study made highlight for the lead time of materials according to the delay that might happen in banks’ procedures which might face sudden change in foreign currency rate . The main recommendations were, development of the mechanisms of purchasing and supply through the strengthening of trust with banks, in addition to building strategic partnerships with suppliers.

The study was organized in an introduction and four chapters and a conclusion. Chapter one dealt with the concept of supply chain management. Chapter two was about essentials of supply chain management .The third chapter was about effective management of supply chains. Chapter four was about the case study for GIAD Trucks Company, findings, recommendations, bibliography and appendices.
