| Abstract: | Abstract This study is under the title " effectiveness of the electronic education in raising teaching efficiency of the teacher of Biology at the secondary stage". It aims at defining the currently prevailing methods in teaching the subject of Biology at the second year of secondary stage, identifying the attitudes of the teachers towards using electronic education, its availability at secondary schools and the effectiveness of the electronic education in raising the efficiency of the teacher of Biology, as well as defining the training programs provided for the Biology teacher during their duty service, to use the electronic education in teaching Biology. Also, identifying the problems that prevent using electronic education in teaching Biology at the secondary stage. The methodology adopted by the researcher is the semi-empirical and analytic descriptive, as they are the most appropriate for the type of the study. The analytic methodology explicates what is really in existence and explains circumstances and relationships between them. The study population contained the most related category to the curriculum development, which is the category of the Biology teachers at the secondary stage in Khartoum locality. With the simple random method, the researcher selected a sample representing (20%) of the Biology teachers which made up 77 male and female teachers, and second year secondary school girl students from Arkawit School for Girls, which made up 50 students, to represent the sample of the study out of the total population of approximately 20014 students, and they were divided into two groups (control and empirical). In terms of the statistical analysis of the data of the two random groups, that is, comparing their mean, the statistical package (spss) was used by T-test. The researcher reached findings that can be said as achieving the aims of the study. The findings included existence of a statistical function between the average scores of the two groups in the post-test in favor of the empirical group at moral significance level (0.05) or confidence level 95%. The average scores of the empirical group is greater than the average score of the control group in the post- test. The prevailing methods in teaching at secondary schools is the conventional methods, and there is no infra-structure to apply the electronic education. The electronic education raises the teaching efficiency of the Biology teacher. The study concluded a number of recommendations, including setting up computer labs in the schools and designing a graded advanced curriculum that observes the individual differences among the learners, so that the concerned authorities would demand mastering computer as prerequisite for renewing the employment contract, and proposals that may benefit other researchers. |
