Abstract

International University of Africa Mohamed Islam Obeid Abdurrahman The Title: (Specialized Broadcastings and their Role in Promoting University Education - Case study Radio of the Sudan Open University (2017 -2018). This study attempts to come out with a suitable electronic method that helps audiences to benefit from the knowledge and information of the university scholars. The rationale is that the nature of these universities helps in saving knowledge and disseminating it through lectures and scientific researches. That will definitely help the learners in particular and the people who get knowledge in general. The study examined the importance of these radio broadcastings in promoting university education and how university students and high education institutes can benefit from the lectures at any time. By that it becomes a scientific reference and academic memory for high education. The study adopted a descriptive analytical method, in addition to content analysis and interview as tools for data verification. The study comprises of four chapters as follows: the first one is the methodology; the second one is University education and modern technology. Chapter three is specified for specialized broadcastings, and Chapter four covered the field study and the conclusions which include: the findings, recommendations, references and bibliography, then the appendices. The study came out with the following findings: All respondents agreed that Sudan Open University served high education. Its Radio broadcasting was successfully supporting the curriculum. By that, it served the students and became an academic memory for high education and the nation. The study recommends: As radios is becoming an important tool in many Sudanese universities, administrations should avail necessary material and logistical resources to enable them give fruitful results. The radio transmission should cover all the country, so that it can promote culture awareness among all the members of society. The government should pay attention to radio broadcastings and provide necessary assistance such as exemptions from fees and facilitate ratification procedures.
