Abstract: This research entitled psychological needs of students at the International University of Africa and its relationship with their academic achievement (Malawian students sample), aimed at knowing the characters of the psychological needs (needs to independents, love and belonging, need to achievement and the need for self - achievement) amongst Malawian student at the International University of Africa and to explain the differences in psychological needs in accordance to specialization, sex and semester of study, the research also aimed at discovering the relationship between psychological needs and academic achievement amongst Malawian students at international university of Africa, The researcher applied analytical method in his study as he used questionnaire as a tool for the study, the researcher came up with the following results: The psychological needs of Malawian students at international university of Africa are positively characterized; there is no difference in psychological needs amongst Malawian students at the International University of Africa in accordance to sex, specialization, and level of study and there is strong relationship between psychological needs and academic achievement amongst Malawian students at the international university of Africa, The researcher come up with the following recommendations; the International University of Africa should continue looking and satisfying psychological needs and providing suitable environment, they should also provide guidance and counseling in all faculties which will help in achieving good results, the university should know sources of fulfilling psychological needs that are important to students, the university should organize monthly general meetings with students to hear the challenges they are facing, the lectures should provide conducive psychological to increase the participation of students in the lessons, to build the curriculum in accordance to students psychological needs.
