Abstract: This thes is entitled "The Impact of the Construction of Al Nahda Dam on the partners' quotas in the Nile River according to the international treatie”. Thes is consists of five chapters which clarify the water issue, its importance, its uses and the conflicts that takes place around it." The study also handles the issue of the Nile River, its headwaters and tributaries in tropical in Ethiopia. It tackles the definition of the international river and the difference between international and national rivers as well as the issue of the state on them. The study briefly talked the construction of the Ethiopian Renaissance dam which is the title of this study and it’s exlect of the shares of Nile Basin countries. The thesis also aimed at clarifying thelegel regime who rules international river waters, the efforts of the International Law Commission to codify its customary rules, theories based on international rivers and watercourses, the division of the partners' quotas, the criteria and methods of such division, as well as the legal problems related thereto and the impacts of illegal acts. The study hights related treaties, their definition and the extent of their validity to non-parties States. Also states the Phases of law development related too the Nile Basin water and the nature of its water crisis, as well as the most important protocols and treaties related to it, whether previous treaties during the colonial or new modern agreements of legal nature. The thise cincludes that the inpelenation of agreements need a common legal effort involving all States parties. The thesis also addressed the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam - which is the current event - its recent repercussions, its legal status and its impact on Egypt and Sudan quotas, negatively or positively. The this is recommends what is the best way for the three countries to benefit from the Dam. The study concluded that there is a possibility of benefitting from the Renaissance Dam in cooperation, partnership and contribution to its management and agreement on the duration of filling the Dam on the basis of good faith and non-damage to others to achieve sustainable development of the Eastern Nile Basin countries.
