Abstract: The study treated the impact of the policies of export on the commercial balance in Sudan, with special references to the exports of Arabic gum within the period 2005 – 2012 A.D. the problem of the research is that the category of Arabic gum faces local and international obstacles through its extending history. This justifies the researcher's selection of this topic. The significance of the study is justified by the fact that Arabic gum is considered one of the state's resources balance and the elevation of the living standard of the inhabitants of the areas of production. The study aimed at finding out the best method for the ideal exploiting of this financial resource and the best methods for combating smuggling in addition to deducing taxe on the commodity of Arabic gum. The researcher used the analytical descriptive method, the historical method and the method of case study to treat the following hypotheses: The commercial balance. There is a substantial relation between the amounts exported and the income. The study reached a bunch of findings and recommendations. The most important of them are: 1. there is a fluctuation in the production of Arabic gum during the period of the study. 2. there is a fluctuation in the revenues of Arabic gum in Sudan during the period of the study. 3. there is a retreat in the leading role and uniqueness of Sudan in the international market of Arabic gum. The study recommended the following: 1. to adopt a productive policy that encourages the producers in order to increase production and combat pests and decrease the cost of production. 2. to adopt a flexible marketing policy as an incentive to exporters and final consumers in order to increase Sudan's export of Arabic gum and thus increasing income. 3. to reserve the uniqueness and leadership of Sudan in the production and marketing of Arabic gum.
