Abstract: This abstract that is entitled "Undertaking decisions in the police institution through application on the general administration for investigation and criminal evidence" handles the process of taking decisions in respect to the concept, the procedures and the participation. The thesis also discussed the nature of the decisions within the police institution whereas it is an objective process that depends on the output of joint efforts, meanwhile it is a dynamic perpetual operation that counts on careful and in depth. The thesis also aims at: Transforming the police administrative process from just an intuition or a resumption to the utilization of modern and scientific administrative processes to tackled all the problems that confront it. At the police leadership level all commanders should realize certain goals within the framework of the main objective where particular challenges exist. According adopting the up – to – date scientific procedures in the administration is the best way to a chive the reasonable work and get the desired goals. The thesis realized the following consequence: 1- The police decision is often undertaken in an atmosphere of anxiety and tension not allowing the police officer an opportunity to act with premeditation and deliberation . Whereas any delay in undertaking the police decision result in adverse consequences the may lead to death or loss of rights. 2- More than one section at the criminal investigation department may perform the data compilation and this can lead to specialization duplicity and data duplication thus leading to more loss of time span and more expenditure in addition to the fact that there is no specific entity for establishing comprehensive police data bank. 3- Overlaing of the specialization of some of the criminal investigation executive departments in respect to data compilation. This is due to absence of a specific concept for the police statistical work. 4- The usual procedures adopted for undertaking the police decisions are the long- time experience, the right personal judgment and insight. All these are traditional procedures. 5- The means for testing preparing and training the human elements are limited to aiming at assisting the police officer to follow a scientific procedure for undertaking a decision and develop the entrepreneurial talent of the police officer. 6- The thesis proved that occupational reasons that make the officers hesitate in undertaking the decisions is fearing the unjustified transfer and lack of stability at his working post. This indicates that the transfer is inflicted as a punishment for negligence of the officers while there is lack of occupational bases for imposing the transfer. 7- Low salaries and wages that are not commensurate with the responsibilities and risk of the nature of the police duties.
