Abstract

This research aim to identify the Psychotically Hardiness and its relationship to the perception of rumors through electronic communications sites among the university students in Khartoum state. The researcher used the descriptive correlation method. The research sample consists of (303) student (115) male (79) female (224) scientific students and (79) Arts students. They were selected through the accidental sample. The tools of data collection consist of the psychological hardiness scale prepared by emad mekhemir and the perception of rumors scale- by the researcher. The data was analyzed by the Computer Applying the Statistical Package for social Sciences (SPSS) using the following Tests: (T) Test for one sample, (T) Test for two Independent Sample, Pearson Correlation Coefficient, Alpha Coronbackh, and ANOV Test. The most important results are as follows: the general Trait of the Psychological Hardiness among the university students in Khartoum state is high. The general Trait of the perception of rumors among the university students in Khartoum state is high. There is statistical significant correlation between the psychological Hardiness and the perception of rumors through electronic communications sites among the university students in Khartoum state. There are no statistical significant differences in the Psychological Hardiness among the university students in Khartoum state and the variable of gender ( Male – Female). There are no Statistical Significant differences in the Psychological Hardiness among the university students in Khartoum state and the variableof the academic level ( Distinction, Very good, Good, and pass). There are statistical significant differences in the psychological Hardiness among the university students in Khartoum state and the variable of academic specialization ( Scientific, Arts) in favor of Arts students, except in the dimension of obligation there are statistical significant differences. (Finally recommendations such as activation counseling programs to raise the awareness and develop the Keenness of the university students to ensure the authenticity of news and information also to verify it to change them from the negative to positive recipient. The research suggest studying the personality Traits of the rumors recipient through the Social Media among the university students and other academic stages, also references were cited at the end of the research).
