Abstract

The subject of this study is entitled The role of the TV editorial policy in dealing with social issues by applying to Khartoum satellite channel in the period 2018-2019, where the problem of this study is the ambiguity surrounding the editorial policy of television and leads to a lot of caution based on the unspecified and invisible directives represented in the state's media policy as well Its importance stems from its direct impact on social issues. In this study, the researcher used the descriptive analytical method and the historical approach. One of the most important objectives of the research is to identify the extent of the programmatic political interest in Khartoum Satellite with social programs and the extent of planning, preparation and presentation of them. The research is divided into four chapters that included a number of investigations. The researcher devoted the first chapter to the methodological framework, in which the researcher discussed the importance of the research and its goals, and I answered several questions that were the focus of the message. Television, its features, characteristics, functions and methods. It also dealt with the concept of editorial TV policy and devoted the third chapter to the topic of the concept of social issues, their causes and how to study them and what are the most important obstacles in addition to addressing some types of social issues affecting Community. The fourth chapter of the applied study was conducted with a group of respondents from the audience of the Khartoum satellite. This chapter dealt with a glimpse of the Khartoum satellite channel, then the study covered Applied and then its analysis, and one of the most 9 important results obtained by the researcher is that the editorial policy has an effective role in addressing social issues and that the editorial policy in the Khartoum channel is based on scientific foundations and take the necessary decisions. The study also demonstrated that social issues on Khartoum TV found its natural right of visibility and coverage. Among the most important recommendations on the Khartoum satellite channel is the renewal of its editorial policy, according to the requirements of work and society, and attention to social issues that concern young people and are consistent with its interests.
