Abstract

This study addresses the Impact of strategic management on the crisis taking Islamic Co-operative Development Bank as a case study. The problem of the study represented in the lack of organizations concern on the strategic management as an administrative approach which enables organizations to achieve their seeked goals and to avoid the expected risks. The study aimed to highlight the advantages of the strategic management applications for discovering the crisis at their early stages and providing for solutions easily. The study aimed also to show the importance of strategic management for the organizations' performance in general, and for managing the crisis in particular. The study hypothesizes that, there is a relationship between the degree of the strategic management practice and the ability of the Bank to discover the crisis and get an early solution. The research methodology is a descriptive analytical and statistical approach for collecting and analyzing the data from primary and secondary sources. The most important conclusions of this study are: 1. Whenever the Bank establishes a knowledge-built strategy, it is helps to avoid the crisis. 2. The Bank concerns with the training of its administration leaders on how to deal with crisis. 3. The Bank has effective information system which enables the flow-up of the environmental changes in the surrounding environment. In the light of the conclusions reached, the study offer the following recommendation:- 1. Strategic management should be implemented by institutions as an administrative approach for the management of organization. 2. The researcher recommends for the bank to concern more about the training of their administrative on how to deal with the crisis, so as to get cadres with good skills which enable them to deal with crisis effectively and efficiently. 3. It's better for the organizations to have an effective information system which helps them to know the expected changes in its environment.
