Abstract

The title of this study is: Illumination Philosophy by Shihab Aldeen Al Suhrawardi in view if Islamic Aqida. This study aims to throw light upon the life of the founder of (Illumination Philosophy) Shihab Aldeen Al Suhrawardi, his philosophy, his sources and build-up of his philosophy. It also aims to study Illumination Philosophy in view of to Islamic Aqida. The study used mainly the historical and descriptive methodologies, in addition to analytical and comparative methodologies in order to make comparisons and extract conclusions. The objective of the study is to try to make Illumination Philosophy simpler and easy to understand by clarifying it in simple, current Arabic language. The second objective is to study the philosophy in light of Islamic Aqida The study is composed of four chapters, the first chapter contained the fundamentals of the study, whereas the second chapter included the bibliographical information of the author and his sources and manuscripts, the third chapter stated the components of the Philosophy and the forth chapter compared its components to Islamic beliefs. The study is concluded by results and recommendations.
